It will start at the Worcester park Library at 10 am, and finishing with refreshments and a short Open Forum in the newly refurbished Christ Church with St. Philip Halls in Ruskin Drive at midday.  A small display in the Library will show the history of the route, and a handout will be available.  Meanwhile an excellent preparation for the walk is David Rymill's book Worcester Park and Cuddington: A walk through the centuries.

The route will go along one of the oldest roads in Worcester Park, Longfellow Road. (This road began to be developed in the 1860's along a narrow field extending up to Lincoln road).  we will then go round by the top of Green Lane into Mayflower Park passing Worcester Park's latest housing development, The Hamptons.  Coming out at the far side we will follow through 1930's residential heartlands, passing Dorcester Recreation Ground, and the down Ruskin Drive to the Christ Church with St. Philip Halls.

Refreshments will be available at the Halls, and the opportunity for a short Open Forum on any issues identified on the walk.  As we will have the benefit of the Safer Neighbourhood Teams with us, we will be able to focus on vandalism in the area and provision of facilities for youth.

For a shorter walk you can join us on the Mound in Mayflower Park at around 10.45 am.   (There is parking space at the to of of Green Lane outside the Hamptons).  Or, if you would prefer a shorter route back, you could break the walk via Browning Avenue.
